Tim, there are a lot of shinguards that provide a sleeve that go with the shinguard that will go under the shinguard and wrap around the shinguard holding it in place.

The sleeves are very lightweight, breathable and comfortable. The shinguards I have been using for years are the Cobra Shinguards; http://www.cobrashinguards.com/

The Cobra shinguards are lightweight and will mold to your legs, which may help prevent rubbing and skin irritation. Plus they include a free sleeve with every shinguard purchase which may also help your excema.

I need a sock or layer for under shin guards because I have excema. I need all my skin covered to not have contact with the rubber inside of the shin guard. I must also wear the shin guard underneath my team sock.

I think I am going to have to print this out and give it to my youth squad. They really don't understand communication yet. Very nice.

Scott, I couldn't agree with this more. There are so many differences between the various sports. I am not sure why anyone ever tries to compare them, or say that one is better than the other. It is a lame argument.

I must admit I used to wear soccer shirts that would make fun of football players when I was younger. I have no idea why I did this. I have loved football my entire life and it is one of my favorite sports to watch and play. To this day I have no idea what prompted me to wear a shirt making fun of a sport I love. As soccer players in America, we need to get over our insecurity that Soccer is not the most popular sport here like it is everywhere else in the world. And to all of the non-soccer players, we don't care if you hate the sport, you can at least respect it.

Great article Scott!
